I had a fabulous time attending the happiness and meditation retreats. The food was amazing and I had never eaten a... strictly vegetarian diet before. My hotel room was well-appointed and lovely and had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable. The best part of my room was the amazing view of the mountains, moon and stars. The programs have been great and were exactly what I needed to bounce back after a years worth of pandemic stress. I highly recommend to everyoneread more

One of the most peaceful and naturally beautiful places I have ever been. Even just after a two day meditation retreat,... I felt so much more relaxed and rejuvenated in returning to my day to day life. I can't wait to go back and have already booked my next retreat. I did not try the Spa, but wish I had.read more

The Art of Living Retreat Center is a magical place that allows it's customers to escape from the daily noise and... solely focus on their minds. It was everything they had advertised and more. They took extra precautions for COVID and the instructor was top class.read more

I really enjoyed my time at the center. Going into it alone I expected to be to myself for the weekend, but I met some... lovely people and laughed so much this past weekend! The food was fantastic! Very flavorful. I also loved the yoga classes with Kim and Allie, hopefully more class times can be added in the future. My aryuvedic services were wonderful as well with Alice and Mary. They both have very peaceful and healing energy. You get a full hour of self care! Hopefully the 90min services will be available soon as well. The facility is minimal, but has a lot of depth and substance. Superb staff. Kelsie was the first person I met and very sweet and welcoming. It is definitely not a spa, but more of a wellness center as advertised. I was a little disappointed the steam room was not open and equipment in the gym did not work.I will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone who needs a break from their daily routine, relaxing time in the mountains with peace and quiet. Thank you AOLC!read more

I came here on the first day the center opened after being closed for over a year! Let me tell you; this place is... AMAZING! The ambiance, the staff, the food, the activities, the massage. Just perfect!Kim and Charlie are so nice and very accommodating. Marys voice is angelic, Allies energy is soothing to the soul. The words of wisdom being shared after meditation chant is practical. You don’t just do the activities; each activity like yoga, meditation or cooking class etc has a deeper meaning. They teach you the why and the how. The staff are so courteous and ready to help you truly rest and recharge. This was money well spent and most of all, the peace and tranquillity i feel and the tools to help me continue my practice outside the center is truly a gift.I definitely will return in the future.read more

A terrible experience, if you are pregnant. I don’t not recommend coming here. I am 3 months pregnant and came here for... a getaway to relax and mediate before the coming months. I attended a yoga class where I got very light headed and had shortness of breath. I removed my mask due to this and explained this to the Yoga instructor. I also made sure I was well over 6 feet away from any other guest. Afterwards I was rudely hunted down by a staff member who jumped on the elevator saying how I am not do that. However according to the North Carolina Health and Human service that while exercising you are allowed to remove your mask if you are having trouble breathing or feeling lightheaded which I had both since I am pregnant and am easily out of breath. This could have been handled in a much better way.read more

After my aunt passed away a few years back I had the pleasure of cooking at The Art of Living. It was such an amazing... place. The kitchen was highly functional and always clean. It was a true experience working the special events for the Hari Kristnas. Meditating was nothing but eye opening there. I made some really great friends while their as well. Thank you! I would highly recommend. Clean rooms, attentive staff, delicious up to date food.read more

I have just experienced the Art of Living Retreat Center for the first time and I'm planning my next visit there... already! I can't say enough about the attention to detail, the conscious and caring staff and the majestic setting!! Combine that with optional lectures, yoga, meditation, etc and this is mighty close to heaven! I recommend the AOLRC to anyone who needs a reprieve from the business in their lives. The quiet and the natural alone are quite healing. Enjoy!read more

The location was beautiful. The staff was nice and friendly. But the rooms are so hot because there wasn't AC. My room... was far away from the classroom. The class was located in one of the office's room, not in one of the temples. The dining room needs to be renewal especially the outside area. The food was good, not too many choices. Kind of disappointed for the amount of money charged.read more

It's a mind blowing place. The location is very accessible, beautiful, serene and calm. Food served is simply... delicious. Very comfortable in all aspects. I'm hooked onto their meditation programs. Very relaxing and rejuvenating. I have come back feeling fresh and happy every time. Have been going there at least once or twice a year for the last 7-8 years.Pro-tip: Ask for the rooms next to the Dining area if you are not much of a hiker or have physical challenges.read more

Absolutely love this place!! Can't have enough of it. The serenity and beauty of this place never fails to charm me.... The best part about this place is that, not only do I experience the scenic beauty outside, but I also have such deep meditations, as the energy of this place is so high. A completely rejuvenating and refreshing experience overall. I will continue to visit a few times every year.read more
