Dosha benefits: Vata and Pitta

Ingredients:

  • Mango puree 2 cups
  • Coconut or Almont Milk 2 cups
  • Assorted nuts (pistachios, almonds, cashews, raisins) 1 cup
  • Sugar ¾ cup (or Jaggery powder equivalent amount)
  • Cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Rice flour 2 tsp

Recipe:

  • Boil Coconut or Almond milk in a vessel. 
  • Add sugar (or jaggery), cardamom powder and rice flour to it and allow the milk to thicken and reduce. 
  • Allow the mixture to cool.
  • Roast the nuts and cut into fine pieces. 
  • Add the nuts to the reduced milk.
  • Mix the mango puree into the reduced milk. 
  • Allow the mixture to cool. 
  • Serve in small bowls, garnished with chopped nuts and raisins.

Ayurveda Tip:

  • A ripe sweet mango may be combined with milk. It is also recommended to mix dry fruits such as raisins, dates, and figs along with milk. Avoid mixing sour fruits with milk.
